Benchmark Productions’ custom Pine Street Records Pop-up—a fully fabricated, one day record store within the Seattle Convention Center—drew inspiration from the 90s grunge roots of its host city, Seattle.
Inside the store, visitors enjoyed over 1,400 records, 90s band t-shirts, posters and paraphernalia, guitars on display and vintage MTV. Neon signs illuminated every little detail, from Troll dolls and lunchboxes to a good ol’ fashion landline. From open to close, the record shop pop-up brought attendees back in time, providing the perfect hit of nostalgia.
For an additional layer of surprise and delight, attendees could pop through the record store Pepsi machine to reveal a secret passageway leading to a scarlet speakeasy, keeping the party going strong after the record store closed up shop for the night.
